Description
Superb traditional Peulh/Kankera chest in solid wood, decorated with metal ornaments representing snakes on the front and a lizard on the top. These motifs are not insignificant:
Snakes often symbolise protection, wisdom and the link between the earthly and spiritual worlds.
The lizard is an emblem of resilience, adaptability and regeneration, very present in African art and beliefs.
