Mémoire d’Afrique — Ref. 62
Ashanti Kuduo pot — Ghana — African tribal art — Ref. 62
Description
Magnificent Ashanti Kuduo bronze pot from Ghana, made using the lost-wax technique. It rests on an openwork foot and presents finely chiselled geometric motifs. The lid depicts a family playing Awalé, an emblematic West African strategy game. Under a parasol, a central figure supervises the game, surrounded by players and observers. A carved ladder at the back symbolises the transmission of knowledge. The twisted side handles add a touch of elegance.
